Dining in Noble Style

Another recent fine dining experience brought me to restaurant Bordoo in Tallinn Old Town, belonging to the boutique hotel The Three Sisters, member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux group. First and foremost, what strikes you, is the atmosphere. It’s certainly for special occasions, allowing you to travel back in time and finding yourself at a dinner table in some imaginary medieval castle. Solid stone walls, room dimly lit with candles, luxurious decor – all adding to this particular experience.

All evening we were able to enjoy the privacy of our own company, as the tables are situated quite far from each other, so you hardly hear other conversations. Not for those dinners, when you would like to enjoy the vividness of the place and buzz around you, but perfect for those moments when you would like to really take the time out, concentrating only at the conversation with your partner and the exquisite taste of food.

What stood out for me from all the dishes I tried, was the starter. A beautiful combination of duck liver inside the ball of chocolate, presented beautifully on stones inside a little wooden box, and a glass of Veuve Clicquot rosé champagne. I was also enjoying the following ravioli filled with foie gras, again duck liver and mushrooms, but the most memorable was still the starter, probably the presentation played its important role here.

All in all, it was a noble dining experience for special occasions, delivering both on atmosphere and masterfully combined tastes.
