Autumn Beauty – 5 products I swear by

Time to kick off the colourful autumn with my favourites among beauty products that I have bought and thoroughly tested recently.

It’s also worthwhile mentioning that it also marks the start of a new column in my Nordic Fashionista Lifestyle blog – BELLEZZA -, dedicated to the investigations into current beauty trends, novelty products and proven travel favourites. Hopefully it would help women (and occasionally some men, if gentlemen are present among my readers) who need to share their lives between several roles every day to orientate quicker and better among the evergrowing variety in the cosmetics and beauty world.

And here they are, 5 products I currently use every day (or in case of the facial exfoliant weekly) and would definitely recommend, coming from very moderate to moderate price levels this time:

Urban Decay Lip Mousse

I was actually trying to find a new blush and walking around in the beauty department when the Urban Decay consultant suggested me to try their new lip mousse for that purpose. I must say I was at first sceptical, as I have come to learn that in many cases those all-in-one multipurpose products are not so efficient afterall. But I was proven wrong this time, as the Urban Decay lip mousse was and is working wonders as a blush. I chose for my fair skin a shade called Halo, which leaves a perfectly natural – and thus very much on this invisible beauty trend hot right now – result during daytime, but has a very strong pigment in reality, so for evening make-up I apply another layer and the result is very visible. If anything, one needs to be careful not to apply it too strongly. I use it predominantly as a blush, but also tried on lips where it leaves a wonderfully natural colour as well.

Missha overlengthening mascara Wave Lash

I tried that for the first time and again, based on the suggestion of my beauty expert in the make-up studio. It’s wonderfully light, so practically you don’t feel it even if wearing all day long, not only lengthens, but also gives volume and what’s also important – it comes off nicely, but not smearing.

H&M highlighter palette Chamonix Chill

This one I actually didn’t buy myself, but was given as a present, but it turned out to be a wonderful palette to use all year round. There are shades like Open Fire, Off Piste or Chalet for a more sunkissed look and then again Icicle, Après Ski and Hit the Slopes are perfect for giving a blush glow and defining with a highlighter. My palette is perfect for a fair skin, light to medium skin tones. For medium to deep skin tones the same kind of palette is also available under Malibu Getaway name.

Löwengrip Cell Renewal Facial Exfoliant

I tested a few products from that quality Swedish cosmetics line and this has become one of my favourites (the colour of packaging has been changed recently). Quite essentially it’s for a chemical peeling and one of those products that you actually don’t need to rinse off, but can leave to its work. Deep-cleansing, so working wonders with all sorts of impurities and hyperpigmentation. Usually once a week is enough and I feel my skin to be visibly more glowing after I started to use it.

Youth Glow Radiance Oil

Well, that Nordic facial oil from Finland is an absolute must all year round, but especially when the autumn and winter winds hit. Based on natural ingredients like rose hip and lingonberry seed oil, massaging just 2-3 drops on your face and neck is enough for an immediate rejuvenation and moisture. Make sure to warm it between your hands before applying and taking time while applying it, as it doubles the efficiency.

That’s it for this time, stay tuned for more and enjoy autumn!
